Path to Customer Success (Path2CS) will shock-proof women’s careers in the face of COVID-19 and automation
The Career Foundation announced today the launch of the Path to Customer Success (Path2CS) project. The two-year project is funded by the Government of Canada’s Future Skills Centre (FSC) and will assist diverse women from across Ontario who have lost their jobs in the service sector due to COVID-19.
Path2CS will help 120 women access in-demand jobs in the technology sector. Participants will be trained as Certified Remote Workers specializing in sales, customer success and data analytics. The program will also create a strong and diverse talent pipeline for employers seeking to rebuild their businesses following the pandemic.
“Incorporating remote-based learning and work opportunities into the Path2CS program will ensure access to safe and sustainable career paths for women, while also supporting them to develop technology skills ahead of the projected disruption of automation,” says Evelyn Akselrod, Vice President, Strategic Development, Community and Corporate Relations with The Career Foundation. “We aim to ensure that women are included in the economic recovery of Canada, and by providing them with additional support and resources, they can continue to advance their careers and fully participate in the labour market.”
The Career Foundation will be working in partnership with Workplaceless, the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA), Lighthouse Labs, and Riipen to deliver a robust training program. Workplaceless will deliver the Remote Work Certification program and CPSA will provide consultative sales training to participants. Meanwhile, Lighthouse Labs will deliver their Customer Success Analytics program for women and provide industry context, while Riipen will connect participants with remote work-based learning opportunities with employers across the country.
Pedro Barata, Executive Director of the Future Skills Centre, says that supporting diverse and marginalized women who have lost their jobs in the service sector due to COVID-19 will equip them with the future-forward skills, tools and mindset for resilient careers to ensure their economic inclusion. He said this is a perfect example of programs that FSC is supporting to build an inclusive workforce of the future that leaves no one behind.
“This project will help women develop real-world skills to enhance their employability in the IT sector and will also create a more diverse talent pipeline for employers,” said Barata. “This is just one of the exciting shock-proofing projects that FSC is investing in to build a future playbook for shared prosperity, and help Canadian workers and businesses seize opportunities in our future economy.”
In addition to this project, Future Skills Centre is funding 63 other innovation projects as part of a $32 million investment to provide practical solutions for thousands of workers and employers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
