No-cost Employment Supports for Persons with Disabilities
If you have a disability and are looking for individualized assistance to get employed, The Career Foundation’s Empowering Abilities Program is designed for you!
Through the Empowering Abilities Program, you can get:
- Job placement and job coaching
- Job-specific certifications
- First Aid/CPR and WHMIS training
- Wage subsidies for job placements
- And more!
Program Eligibility
Eligible participants must have little to no recent attachment to the labour force (i.e., very little to no recent employment history) and must be willing to participate in different program elements for 10 weeks.
Information for Employers

Employers can:
- Access trained and skilled applicants with certifications, including Customer Service, Retail Sales & Loss Prevention, SmartServe, Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, and First Aid/CPR.
- Provide job trials and placements for people with disabilities.
- Receive support with workplace accommodations if needed.
- Receive support in becoming a Disability Confident Employer.
